Teeth in a Day

Have you been told that you don't qualify for traditional implants but want the benefits they afford?  Teeth in a Day implants can give you the stability you need in less time, with less money, and with fewer qualifying factors. At Hopkin Oral Surgery, Salt Lake City, UT, patients can receive Teeth in a Day treatment from a board-certified oral surgeon.

What Is Teeth in a Day Treatment? Teeth in a Day vs. Traditional Implants

Placing traditional dental implants can be a long process that takes several months to complete. However, with Teeth in a Day®, patients can restore an entire arch of teeth on the same day as surgery. This procedure uses mini dental implants that can immediately support an entire denture, rather than traditional dental implants that need several months to integrate with the jawbone before they can support a denture. With Teeth in a Day, you don't have to spend a single day more with missing teeth.

Candidates for Teeth in a Day

Good Oral Health

Decay, gum disease, and other oral health concerns should be treated before undergoing implant surgery. Dr. Dustin J. Hopkin can refer you to a Salt Lake City dentist to treat your oral health concerns before beginning implant treatment.

Sufficient Jawbone Density

While patients with some bone atrophy may still qualify for Teeth in a Day, they will need to have enough bone density to support the mini dental implants. Our oral surgeon can perform a bone graft if you lack sufficient jaw density.

Overall Good Health

When undergoing any form of surgery, patients should be in good health. Any outstanding conditions, such as diabetes, should be managed prior to surgery. Dr. Hopkin will examine your medical records before beginning treatment.

What's the Process Like? Timeline of a Teeth in a Day Procedure

Your dentist will work alongside Dr. Hopkin to create and place your custom implant-supported denture.
Rather than going months without new teeth, Teeth in a Day surgery gives you a new smile right away.

Consultation

During your initial one-on-one conversation with the oral surgeon at our Utah office, he will look at the state of your teeth to determine your candidacy for treatment, see if any preparatory procedures are needed, and determine how to best proceed with treatment.

Planning

Dr. Hopkin will take a digital scan of your smile using 3D cone beam imaging technology. This technology creates a clear view of your teeth and oral structures, so your oral surgeon can accurately find the optimal locations to place the dental implants that will support your new teeth.

Sedation

The sites where dental implants will be placed will be numbed with local anesthesia for a virtually painless process. For patients nervous about treatment, we also offer sedation dentistry options, including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation.

Surgery

Small incisions are made in the gums, and the implants will be precisely placed for optimum support. During surgery, Dr. Hopkin uses state-of-the-art equipment from X-Nav Technologies to accurately guide where the implants are placed.

Recovery

For most Utah patients, a temporary set of dentures can be attached to your new implants on the same day as your surgery. This is what gives the Teeth in a Day procedure its name. This way, you can immediately enjoy a new smile.

Final Restoration

The recovery period between your initial implant appointment and your final appointment is around 3-6 months. Once your implants have successfully fused to your jawbone and the tissue around the surgical site has healed, your dentist can place your permanent denture.
